Say it isn’t so!

General Motors is closing down its Tonawanda plant and ceasing production of the big block L18 engine. It’s the end of the line for the engine which got its start in 1958. Along with that sad bit of news, the plant will lay off the remaining 150 hourly employees. Merry Christmas, ho ho humbug.

Patrick Swayze has passed

Patrick Swayze, who danced his way into moviegoers’ hearts with “Dirty Dancing” and then broke them with “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.
