I ran across another slick video of the light-interactive pool table, the Obscura Cuelight. We ran a video of the table back in September. The new vid which has resurfaced, shows that they’ve added some new background effects and there’s a glimpse of the remote touchpad used for changing the scenery. Gizmodo pins the table [...]

D&D room

A Dungeon Master builds a dungeon for his heated D&D games complete with light dimmer, background music and fog machine. It’s a great theme for a small room of this sort. But somewhere, someone will raise an eyebrow.
Have a look at this great room here.
Hmm. No clock.

I guess movie studios are in fact releasing trailers by twos. This #2 trailer really doesn’t have a lot of meat behind it but it gives us a plot synopsis. It’s good to know that the story continues and that there’s a role for Jeff Bridges’ character. The movie is scheduled for December of this [...]

Napier Deltic engine – almost a rotary
March 3rd, 2010 · No Comments · amazing, automotive, clever, odd, video
The Napier Deltic engines are triangulary shaped power plants with each bay having 3 cylinders, 6 pistons and 3 cranks. Each cylinder has two pistons that approach top-dead-center at the same time. Confusing? Perhaps. But you’ll get a better idea of the concept in this video demonstration:
Wikipedia has more on this engine with a neat [...]

Found this on a Russian website. Pictures of a roadster-like car shaped like a bucket complete with handle, powered by a radial engine. If this is Photoshop or Illustrator, it’s a damn good job.

If you’ve ever felled a tree, you’ve probably heard that distinctive moan the wood gave off as it toppled over. It’s one of perhaps two “personal” sounds that trees make. The other is this unfortunate and obviously green branch which found itself across some power lines. It screams and whistles as it’s being cooked.
