Frankly speaking

All of our SPT domains, .com, .org, .net and .info will be automatically renewed for another year sometime next week. Pretty much every other day, I get an email message stating that fact.Screen Shot 2015-07-18 at 10.58.09 PM

There’s money in the bank and we’re ready to go. Since moving the domains over to Hover.com, these renewals are no longer a point of worry. I like those guys.

Even WordPress is updated automatically. I get email from them as well, and upon signing in to the site, I already know that a few plugins are also available for update.

But YouTube and Google’s Gmail give me grief. Someone over there is click happy. Gmail sign ins require a couple of extra clicks (remember me box enabled as default) and the YouTube preview window during acquiring video embed codes serves no purpose for me except to take up real estate. Even though there’s more input required by the user “to make things easier,” on the surface they serve no purpose. Maybe they do this for all the Windows and Chrome people.

With all of next week in the low 80s, it may be a good idea to start making headway on the garage cleanup. I could fill up the main bin and then on Wednesday, it’ll get emptied. I’ll fill it up again until the wife complains. Or I get a letter from the city. Crap. Just remembered the gutters need cleaning. Maybe it’ll rain and I won’t have to do it.

One of these days, if I feel rambunctious, I should repost some of my old essays. Chicago-ese, Golfers as athletes, etc. I’ll have to think about how to get links to them on the main page. I also really have something to say about film vs. video and I could go on and on about slotted screws. Turn signals or lack thereof, left-lane slowpokes, and the value of caller ID. Maybe a dissertation on the pee stream of an old guy.

Thanks for stopping by whenever you get the chance.
