Frankly speaking

The site is cruising along. What’s funny is, since I’ve unbanned all the previously banned IP addresses, the spam comments have remained minimal. The complaints about 403 Forbidden messages is zero. Lesson learned. There were no new updates, no new plugins, everything is as it was.

The new Weekly Babes gallery is up and has started collecting all the weekly images. Here’s a link if you want to scope out the new one, or if you wish to peruse all the old ones. A lotta nice girls, hah! (LaGrange ref.) This year’s collection is presented using all the real estate that the site’s theme offers. You can still click to get the original size.

I have finished the MASH website and it’s picking up speed with more users commenting according to the topics so far laid out in the forum. It will require some tweaking as time goes on, I’m sure. But I’m up for it. I have confidence in the WP platform and the theme chosen.

One thing that sticks in my craw is that the forum plugin, Simple Press, has no post editor, no toolbar what so ever. From what I’ve gathered so far, the SP people are charging a membership to download add-ons and plugins. What I’ve learned so far is that I can get a 2-month subscription to the service for 39 bucks. One year = $99. What a pity. The SP forum plugin is great but the structure behind it reeks of ’90s era Microsoft Windows tech support. I’m still going to search for an answer. This early stage of the MASH site is rolling, and to change to a different forum structure would just alienate the users.

Winter chugs on. We have a reprieve this week as temps will hover above freezing until next weekend. The furnace is working like a charm and the new water heater is doing its job even though the kitchen faucet has a drastically reduced water flow. (It’s excruciating to rinse out a beer glass.) That’s from when the air in the pipes was blown out after the water heater installation. I have some ideas for a couple of remedies but it will take time and preparation.

For now, there are no plans to change SPT in any way. As it is today will be the way it is for quite a while. But I am bothered by the loading times. But it’s on my list of things to correct.

This shit. I still love doing it.

Thanks for stopping by.
