Navdy announced on 8/5 a breakthrough HeadUp Display (HUD) aftermarket car console that allows drivers to access their smartphone’s apps while keeping their eyes on the road. Navdy combines a high quality projection display with voice and gesture controls to create a safer, highly intuitive driving experience. Combining advanced display technology with touchless controls means drivers no longer need to fumble around with their phone to navigate, communicate or control their music.
Following a crowdfunding model, Navdy begins taking preorders on its website today, offering the first units for $299. The company is looking to raise $60,000 over its 30-day preorder offering to begin full production of the Navdy units. Once full production begins, Navdy will go on sale for $499 per unit.
They always think up bad names for these new devices.
