Frankly speaking

My apologies, but I haven’t had a decent amount of time to devote to the site other than the daily requisites. I haven’t been able to even Frankly speak for a while, so now that I have the time, I’ll try to update y’all as to what’s going on.

The site has been acting a bit slow during the midday postings. It’s excruciating for me to wait for the site to change WordPress edit screens knowing that I have to depart for work soon. I can only imagine what it’s like on your end. I have entertained thoughts about moving us over to Squarespace or upgrading us to a better, perhaps unshared server here on HostGator. Please bear with me while I research this all out. More than likely, it’ll cost more money.

Visitations have returned to normal with an average of about 350 per day and the page views often exceed 1,000. My son is updating the Facebook page for the site on a daily basis and I really like his play on words. I don’t know if it’s doing any good, but for now, we have 39 people liking us. That’s a good thing.

I’m in the process of converting our old, small chest freezer into a kegerator. The freezer is in the garage and awaits a 2×6 pine collar, a beer faucet and shank and time to make it all happen. I have a temperature controller brand new in the box and all that’s left to happen is a good day and some time to put it all together. The freezer is already on a wheeled dolly, so it’d be no problem carting it into the house during the winter. Time. It’s all about time. And money.

The Suzuki Intruder has been StaBil-ed. That’s it for the motorcycle riding season of 2010. It’s just too freakin’ cold to go out for a jaunt, even around the block. Damn. Sometimes I wish I lived in a warmer climate where I cold ride almost all year round. But then, my taxes would probably be higher and the beer choices just might suck. And there’s always the possibility of a jagoff neighbor.

Here’s a thought that is sustaining me as the days drone on: We have about 350 visitors a day on this site. What if you all were to visit in person instead of on the Internet? I imagine myself out in the Manly Garage with the big overhead door open on a nice warm day, and gradually, trickling in, 350 people came to visit in dribs and drabs hoping that I’d show them something that would make them laugh, or how to do something, or to have a beer and chat. Even if the 39 Facebook friends came over it would fill my garage to overflowing. I find that overwhelming in thought.

Each day, a certain time is dedicated to updating this site and still remain on topic. Some days it gets very difficult. But all days are satisfying and rewarding to me regardless of how many visitors don’t show up at the Manly Garage. Stay where you are. Use your computer to get your daily dose of this one man’s crazy shit. I hope you enjoy the place as much as I do.

Thanks a lot for stopping by.

I’ve always said, “if you see the light on, come on in.”

A hundred times I have seen the light on and I really thought about stopping. I always get my daily SPT fix. Heck, you never know when a stranger might pop in {I know it’s cold now, you’re probably inside} when the weather perks up.

Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs to you and the Mrs.
