Nitrous explosion

In the 1790s, Humphry Davy tested nitrous oxide on himself and some of his friends. They realized that nitrous oxide considerably dulled the sensation of pain, even if the inhaler were still semi-conscious. More recently, nitrous has shown to cool down combustion in an engine thereby significantly increasing horespower. In either case, care must be taken to avoid a disaster.
