George Barris gained popularity in the ’60s for the outrageously customized cars that he built. Living in Los Angeles, he was quickly sought after by movie moguls and television producers. Many of his custom cars became quite famous such as the General Lee, the Batmobile, the Monkees Pontiac and the cars of the Munsters.
