SixPackTech will be taking the day off today in order to relax with family, enjoy a great homemade turkey and ham feast with all the fixin’s and drink some beers that don’t require a written dissertation. As much as I’d like to.
In our absence, may I suggest checking out the SixPack of Random in the right sidebar (hit your ‘refresh’ button for six new ones), or just cruise through our archives, selectable from the menu bar just under the header graphic.
We’ll be back with a sixpack of posts tomorrow and later, on Friday night, I’ll post a brew review where I will critique my own damn homebrew beer. But Saturday’s review will be something I’m really looking forward to sharing with you, a confectioner/brewer’s delight. I really don’t know what to expect.
You know, life hands us all a bunch of crap on a daily basis and somehow, we pull through. We have a lot to be thankful for. If it wasn’t for the Internet, this website would amount to an entirely different hobby for me, encompassing inactivity, watching TV, clogged arteries, and a beer gut. Since the beginning of SPT, I’ve learned much about the ‘Net, HTML, PHP, CSS, WordPress, Photoshop, new cars and motorcycles and styles of beer. It’s a blast on a daily basis. I have so much to be thankful for.
My own motorcycle. The Suzuki Intruder 800. The one I broke my toe on during the first lesson. That bike and the limited time I’ve had riding it, has given me a new appreciation of the biker culture, whether they’re crotch rockets or street cruisers. That and the mere fact that I’ve experienced the solitude of being the lone driver learning the machine. No radio, lots of wind noise, vibration, engine sounds, and speed so close to the pavement elevates the mind.
I have a job that provides for me and my spouse. In turn we have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, meals when we’re hungry and a pot to piss in AND a window to throw it out of. We’re healthy and happy as can be expected. Our children have all experienced a genuine childhood. They’ve graduated schools, obtained jobs and became as successful as they let themselves become.
The Manly Garage, the Sotz wood stove, the two Macs, Jeeze, where do I stop? One more thanks. I’m thankful that you guys, the readers, come back to these friendly confines whenever you can to get a dose of what’s on tap. Whether it’s rants like this or the content or whatever.
OH! And YEAST! I’d like to thank that one guy a few thousand years ago who discovered yeast. Without it we wouldn’t have bread… or pizza… or cakes or… BEER! Give us this day. This day of thanks.

Have a safe and sane Thanksgiving everyone.
thanks for keeping up with the site and not letting it go like so many other sites that had awesome potential and then just dropped off the face of the earth. happy thanksgiving Frank!
