Recently held in Anchorage, the beard contest drew all sorts of men sporting facial hair in weird and unusual styles. There’s a photostream of dozens of entrants in the contest. The guy at left, David Traver, won the best overall beard title with a braided rendition of his unshaven kisser.

Having been to Alaska, I can verify that literally every man there has some for of a beard. My favorites were the mountain man style beards, which were very popular with old timers. I swear everyone was drunk as hell too, pretty sweet because it is a nice place to be. Regards!
