Right on the heels of the three “I’m a PC” adverts that Microsoft recently aired, Apple has fired back with four new ones of their own featuring Justin Long and John Hodgman. Mr. Softie’s ads tried to drill into the public an awareness concerning the seemingly high price of Macintosh computers. The three ads featured “man on the street” scenarios where a young lady named Lauren, a man called Giampaolo and a mom and her gamer kid all chose laptops from HP. The quality and specifications of all three laptops were questionable.
Never in the ads did MS mention Windows. With the fiasco that is Vista still front and center, Microsoft instead focused on hardware, completely missing the point of the user experience, return on investment and security. Certain tech circles have deemed the ads laughable.
Apple has just come out with a new round of their own ads and as usual, they tell it like it is.
