Fooling some of the people some of the time

Unbelievable. A company called Denon is offering up what looks like an Ethernet cable especially designed for the audio enthusiast. (?) What makes this cable so special? Right off the bat it’s the price tag. This “premium” 5-foot cable will run you $499.00! Can you believe it? A hunnert bucks a foot.

So whaddya want today? A full gas tank? Or a wire? (Buy the gas and use a coat hanger.) Link is here.

My brother introduced me to these “uber” speaker wires a couple years ago as he works in the industry. They can make a $100 boom box sound like a $1000 dollar system, all at a mere hundred bones a foot. Me, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere, but they do indeed work.

“a mere hundred bones a foot” – gotta love that.

I could pay $100 for a set of cables which would make the system sound awesome. Agreed.

But would $500 cables make it sound 5 times better?

Would my wife, neighbor, paperboy or mail carrier be able to tell the difference?

You have to admit…that is one awesome looking Cat5 Cable end.

but what can be so special about Cat5 (or even Cat6) no matter how well shielded it is….it is just tiny little wires…nothing special.
