Isn’t this SWEET!?? I’m glad that it turned out the way it did. This is it. I think the new place looks kinda nice. Three columns for your viewing pleasure. You can almost smell the fresh paint on the top graphic which has the clean, white look of the new place, and a tinge of the old orange and blue Bears colors. Punctuated by the “DOT FRIKKIN’ COM!” We are now an independent. No more Blogspot, no more Google. No more SixPackTech.blogspot.com. If you haven’t already, please amend your Bookmarks or Favorites.

My friend, Eric Ritchie, designed the top banner graphics at my request and injected his own creativity into it to make it blend into a unique trademark style graphic image which will be up there for quite awhile. A nice chrome-plated touch to the lettering just nails it. I also asked him to put together a half-dozen header graphics, a sort of collage, which please the eye and re-echo the theme. Six blended graphics that would hint at beer, cars, tech, humor (and a babe or two.) By the way, the new babes for the week are up right now. As usual, ogle, decide, vote.

Before I continue, I must alert all you readers that I’m now in somewhat of a steep learning curve. Things may be a little slow going at first, but I’m striving for the requisite 6 posts a day just like before. SixPackTech is now owned, operated, updated, maintained and loved by me. On its own host. It’s now costing me time and money. I have to familiarize myself with that as well as the entire daily Wordpress posting process. It will come. Maybe you won’t even notice.

The content management system I’ve chosen is WordPress. It’s similar, but not the same as Blogger. Blogger was the host of the old site and it provided the tools of the trade to publish anyone’s site on the Internet. And it was free. Still is. I took advantage of this in July of ‘07 and here we are at the next level. Things here at the new place are a little different and I hope are better. I also hope that you will bear with me and the foibles and nuances and mistakes that come with a new “paradigm shift” (God, I hate that term, but it best describes what’s going on here.) Wordpress, on the other hand, does all the same things but is more powerful. I just gotta befriend my new tool of choice.

It took a shitload of time to get this far, a couple of months or so. There’s so much coding and differences of syntax in the pertinent files that I almost gave up a couple of times. Some of my ideas for customization of the chosen WP theme didn’t pan out, so I compromised, and with any luck, it will sit just right with the readership.

I’m thinking of leaving the old SixPackTech.blogspot site up for awhile, just in case someone wants to go back and reread an old post or whatever. I hope you enjoy the new place and if there’s something you find odd or wrong, or if you have a preference for something, send me some communication, either via comments or email.

Here I am, and here we go.
